Another freezing night expected for most of Alabama

Another round of freezing temperatures will be possible for parts of Alabama overnight, according to forecasters.

The National Weather Service has issued a new round of freeze warnings for late tonight and early Tuesday morning for the northern two-thirds of Alabama.

Temperatures by Tuesday morning are again expected to fall to near or below freezing in those areas.

Here are the forecast low temperatures for tonight into Tuesday morning:

Low temperatures will again be near or below freezing for much of Alabama overnight into Tuesday morning.

But the good news is that a warmup will begin after Tuesday morning, and by Thursday highs are expected to be in the 80s statewide.

Here is a look at tonight’s freeze warnings or frost advisories:

NORTH ALABAMA

* Freeze warning for all of north Alabama from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. Tuesday. Temperatures of 29 to 32 degrees are expected.

CENTRAL ALABAMA

Central Alabama frost/freeze

Frost and freeze warnings will be in effect overnight for central Alabama.

* Freeze warning for most of central Alabama from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The counties included are Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes and Elmore.

Temperatures as low as 28 degrees are expected overnight, the weather service said.

* Frost advisory from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. Tuesday for Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour counties.

Temperatures as low as 32 degrees are expected in those areas, the weather service said.

SOUTH ALABAMA

* Freeze warning from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m. Tuesday for Choctaw, Washington, Clarke, Wilcox, Monroe, Conecuh, Butler, and and Crenshaw counties.

Temperatures as low as 31 degrees are expected in those areas.
