Another cold night in the forecast for Alabama: How low could it go?

Temperatures dipped into the 30s overnight in Alabama, and more will be possible tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued another round of freeze warnings and watches and frost advisories for much of the state for tonight.

It was chilly statewide on Friday morning. Here were some unofficial low temperatures as of 6 a.m.:

* Alexander City: 38 degrees

* Anniston: 37 degrees

* Auburn: 39 degrees

* Birmingham: 38 degrees

* Decatur: 37 degrees

* Demopolis: 37 degrees

* Dothan: 41 degrees

* Eufaula: 39 degrees

* Evergreen: 37 degrees

* Gadsden: 37 degrees

* Greenville: 39 degrees

* Haleyville: 34 degrees

* Huntsville: 36 degrees

* Mobile: 41 degrees

* Montgomery: 38 degrees

* Muscle Shoals: 37 degrees

* Ozark: 36 degrees

* Prattville: 37 degrees

* Sylacauga: 39 degrees

* Talladega: 39 degrees

* Troy: 33 degrees

* Tuscaloosa: 36 degrees

Today is expected to be another cool one, with highs only reaching the 50s and 60s. Here’s the high temperature forecast for Friday:

Tonight temperatures will plunge again, and freeze and frost warnings and advisories will go back into effect at midnight for many areas (the forecast for tonight is at the top of this post).

Temperatures could be a few degrees warmer on Saturday but still on the chilly side. Here are Saturday’s forecast highs:

Another chilly night is expected Saturday night into Sunday, but it likely won’t be quite as cold as tonight is expected to be.

Here is a look at the freeze and frost warnings for the state today and tonight:

NORTH ALABAMA

* Freeze watch from midnight until 8 a.m. Saturday for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville will be watching cloud cover tonight, because it could affect temperatures. More clouds means it could be a degree or two “warmer.” Forecasters said that temperatures as low as 31 degrees could be possible.

CENTRAL ALABAMA

Central Alabama freeze

Here are tonight’s freeze and frost warnings for central Alabama.NWS

A freeze warning will be in effect until later this morning, and another one will go into effect tonight for part of central Alabama.

Temperatures tonight into Saturday morning could fall as low as 30 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

* Freeze warning until 8 a.m. Friday and from midnight until 8 a.m. Saturday for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Randolph, St. Clair, Talladega, Walker and Winston counties.

* Frost advisory until 8 a.m. Friday for Autauga, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa counties.

* Freeze warning in effect tonight from midnight until 8 a.m. Saturday for Autauga, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa counties.

Temperatures could fall as low as 30 degrees tonight in the warning areas.

SOUTH ALABAMA

* Frost advisory until 8 a.m. today and from midnight tonight until 8 a.m. Saturday for Choctaw, Washington, Clarke, Wilcox, Monroe, Conecuh, Butler and Crenshaw counties.

The National Weather Service in Mobile said temperatures could fall as low as 34 degrees in those areas tonight.

* Frost advisory from midnight until 8 a.m. Saturday for Escambia, Covington and inland portions of Mobile and Baldwin counties. Forecasters said temperatures as low as 34 will be possible.
