Another Alabama politician was in Manhattan to back Donald Trump at trial
U.S. Rep. Dale Strong today became the latest Alabama elected official to attend the ongoing trial of former president Donald Trump in New York City.
Strong, who represents Alabama’s fifth Congressional district, was seen standing behind Trump as he addressed the media Tuesday at the courtroom in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Supporters joining Strong included Rep. Daniel Mauser, R-Pa., former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, former Acting United States Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and U.S. Sen Eric Schmitt, R-Mo.
Strong also shared a screenshot of himself at the trial on his Facebook page.
Trump’s defense rested its case at his “hush money” trial on Tuesday. Jury deliberations are expected to begin next week.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges of falsifying business records in relation to a payment made to former porn star Stormy Daniels.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville and Attorney General Steve Marshall earlier put in appearances at the courthouse. Tuberville said of his appearance, “Hopefully, we’ll have more and more senators and congressmen go up every day to represent him and be able to go out and overcome this gag order.”
