Angus Cloud âdid not intend to end his life,â his mother says
Angus Cloud wasn’t suicidal prior to his death earlier this week at the age of 25, according to the mother of the breakout “Euphoria” star.
Lisa Cloud took to Facebook on Friday to correct the public’s assumptions about the manner of the young actor’s final hours, which came on the heels of him losing his father to stage 4 cancer, as TMZ reports.
“Although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one,” Lisa wrote on Friday. “He was reorganizing his room and placing items around the house with intent to stay a while in the home he loved. He spoke of his intent to help provide for his sisters at college, and also help his mom emotionally and financially. He did not intend to end his life.”
The mourning mother went on to say that when she and Cloud hugged goodnight the previous evening, they “said how much [they] loved each other and he said he would see [her] in the morning.”
Noting that she was unaware what, if anything, her son consumed following that interaction, she said the actor then “fell asleep and didn’t wake up.”
“We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world,” she continued. “Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case.”
Lisa went on to ask that people honor the memory of her son by making “random acts of kindness part of your daily life.”
Earlier reports claim Cloud’s mom was the one who reported a possible overdose to 911 before the actor was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, Cloud’s official cause of death remains unknown, the Oakland Police Department has said, adding that “this is an active death investigation.”
