American Airlines ground crew worker killed at Montgomery airport
An American Airlines ground crew worker was killed today at the Montgomery Regional Airport, the airport tweeted.
“Today around 3 pm an American Airlines ground crew piedmont employee was involved in a fatality, no additional information is available at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased,” the tweet read.
“Two people briefed on the matter said the employee killed was a baggage handler. The flight was operated by Envoy Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group,” Reuters reported.
“The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to CNN that the incident happened “where American Airlines Flight 3408, an Embraer E175, was parked,” WSFA reported.
The airport will remain closed until Sunday, the Federal Aviation Administration told ABC News.
