Amazon kicks off its second Prime Day of the year, what to know

Amazon has officially kicked off its second major sales event of 2023, otherwise known as its Prime Big Deal Days sale set to run through Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Last year, Amazon hosted what was essentially the same sale that was referred to as the Prime Early Access sale. Similar to last year, this year’s sales event will be exclusively for Prime members.

Those who are considering an Amazon Prime membership can take advantage of these deals among other benefits with a free 30-day trial. After the trial period is over, the cost for a Prime membership currently stands at $139 per year.

Students, however, can get a 6-month free trial and only pay $69 per year for the same benefits, including access to the Prime Big Deal Days sale.

During the Prime Big Deal Days sales event, new deals will drop as often as every five minutes during select periods across a wide selection of products.

If there are certain products that you’re hoping will go on sale, you can get deal notifications from Alexa up to 24 hours in advance on eligible items saved to your Wish List, Cart or Save for Later. You can then ask Alexa to remind you of the deal once it’s live.
