All lanes of U.S. 280 are blocked on a section of road east of Double Oak Mountain due to power lines down on the roadway.

The shutdown is between Dunnavant Valley Road, also known as Shelby County 41, and Essex Drive, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said at noon on Sunday. Traffic is being diverted to Old Highway 280.

Alabama Power estimates that repairs could take another seven to eight hours.

Expect delays and find alternative routes if possible, the sheriff’s office said.
