All of Alabama under heat warnings or advisories today

All of Alabama’s 67 counties were either under an excessive heat warning or advisory on Friday, and those could last through the weekend for some areas.

High temperatures are forecast to again climb into the mid- to upper 90s across the state today, according to the National Weather Service. Those temperatures combined with Alabama humidity will make it feel much hotter and pose a risk to those spending time outdoors.

Look for more above-average heat to continue into next week. However, north and parts of central Alabama should see a sort of cooldown next week, when highs are “only” expected to reach the 80s.

South Alabama is forecast to remain locked in the mid-90s, according to forecasters.

Here are the warnings and advisories for Alabama on Friday:

NORTH ALABAMA

* Excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. Friday, and a heat advisory from 8 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Saturday for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan and Cullman counties.
