Dillon Alfred caught three touchdown passes from quarterback KJ Lacey, and Saraland’s defense, bolstered by the return of Antonio Coleman, got a couple of scores of its own as Class 6A’s No. 1-ranked Spartans routed Blount 59-6 in the Class 6A, Region 1 opener for both teams.

Alfred, whose touchdown receptions covered three, four, and 15 yards, finished the night with four receptions for 33 yards, while Lacey was 16 of 22 for 166 yards and five touchdowns. Santae McWilliams had 63 yards on 12 carries and had a three-yard touchdown run. McWilliams also had four receptions for 30 yards.
