Alabama’s warmest week of 2025 is coming and may bring record highs
Alabama will get a taste of spring this week.
The National Weather Service said temperatures on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday could be high enough to break some records.
Usually with warmer temperatures there is a threat for storms, but there’s no severe weather in the forecast for the state this week (which is also Severe Weather Awareness Week, by the way).
The weather service does think some rain will be possible, with small chances during the week and slightly higher odds on Thursday and Friday. Rain will be more likely in north and central Alabama, and south Alabama may not get any rain.

But the big story will be the spring-like warmth that the whole state will get to enjoy this week.
High temperatures today are expected to reach the 60s and 70s statewide (see today’s forecast at the top of this post).
Highs on Tuesday could be even a degree or two warmer, and they could be near record territory, according to the weather service.

Is another arctic blast waiting in the wings for Alabama?
The eight- to 14-day temperature outlook from the Climate Prediction Center thinks that temperatures have a slightly elevated chance at being near average or above-average in Alabama through mid-February. However, cold air will be lurking to the northwest over that time period as well:
