Alabama’s Red Land Cotton announces collaboration with Banana Republic
A literally homegrown Alabama company specializing in high-quality bedding products has joined forces with nationally-known brand Banana Republic.
Red Land Cotton is collaborating with the San Francisco-based company, owned by The Gap, for a line of luxury bedding through its BR Home brand, which offers home products such as rugs, pillows and decor items.
The retailer announced the brand back in March, with an emphasis on products using organic cotton.
According to Red Land, the Heritage Ticking Stripe collection is hand-cut and sewn by Alabama’s Red Land Cotton. It will be available in stores and online this month.
“Soft, durable, and timeless, each piece features their signature yarn size and weave constriction to create a crisp, cool percale – made using 100% cotton sources from the Red Land Cotton’s family farm,” according to the product description.
The company, in a statement, said it is “excited to be partnering with such a well-respected American brand and look forward to this long-standing partnership.”
Red Land Cotton started about seven years ago, with Anna Brakefield and her father Mark Yeager using cotton from the family farm in Moulton to make luxury sheets, blankets, towels and more. Their inspiration to recreate the look and feel of heirloom sheets with homegrown cotton.
The products have been featured in publications such as Southern Living, Garden & Gun and Country Living.
The company, which employs about 40 people, has developed a completely domestic supply chain over the past six years, and recorded about $10 million last year in sales.
