Alabama’s just not that fun, new ranking claims

Alabama just isn’t that fun.

That’s the claim from a new Wallethub ranking that purports to show how each state scores on the fun-o-meter, including things like the number of restaurants, movie theaters and golf courses per capita, access to national parks, variety of entertainment options and personal expenditures on recreation.

According to the ranking, California was the most fun state in the U.S., followed by Florida, Nevada, New York and Illinois. Rounding out the top 10 were Colorado, Texas, Washington, Minnesota and Louisiana.

You will have to go all the way down to number 30 to find Alabama. The state scored a respectable 24 for entertainment and recreational offerings but fell to 40th for nightlife. Coming in at the bottom of the list was Mississippi, with West Virginia, Delaware, Rhode Island and Arkansas just ahead.
