Alabama woman who paid $25 for $6,000 wedding dress at Birmingham Goodwill is engaged

An Alabama woman whose once-in-a-lifetime bargain wedding purchase will soon have the opportunity to wear her find.

Emmali Osterhoudt shared a social media video announcing her engagement to boyfriend Nick Gould, People reported. Gould proposed in front of Buckingham Palace in London.

“The wedding is going to be small and intimate, but I do have plans to wear the dress nonetheless,” Osterhoudt told PEOPLE. “I knew he was proposing on the trip to London, but I wasn’t sure when. So when I told him I wanted pictures in front of Buckingham Palace and then saw he was down on one knee my jaw dropped.”

“I can finally wear my $25 Galia Lahav dress!!!” she captioned the video of the proposal.

Osterhoudt, 21, went viral earlier this year when she shared a video of her experiences paying $25 for what turned out to be a $6,000 designer creation by Galia Lahav, a native of Belarus and an Israeli designer of wedding gowns. Lahav gowns take anywhere from six to nine months to design and create, according to her website.

Her work has been worn by celebrities such as Beyonce and Paris Hilton, among others.
