Alabama woman reportedly kills puppy as she deliberately runs over Florida man
A Brewton woman is in jail, accused of deliberately striking a man with her vehicle, killing one of his two puppies in the process, WEAR in Pensacola reports.
Kaitlin Johnson Stoodley, 33, was taken into custody Wednesday by the Santa Rosa County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple battery and two counts of felony animal cruelty resulting in death of excessive infliction of pain.
The charges stem from an incident last week when, according to an arrest warrant, Stoodley engaged in a verbal argument with a man on his property in Milton, Fla.
Stoodley was leaving the property, with the man walking in front of her vehicle to “escort” her off the property, holding a “sling blade” type knife with three puppies walking beside him.
The man told Santa Rosa deputies Stoodley became impatient and hit the gas, striking the man and two of the puppies, killing one of them and breaking the other’s leg, according to the report.
Stoodley fled the scene and managed to evade arrest until Wednesday. She was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail, where she remained as of late Thursday afternoon under total bond of $8,000.
