Alabama woman killed by ex-husband in murder-suicide, sheriff says
An Alabama woman who called authorities “in great distress” on Sunday before dispatchers lost contact with her was killed by her ex-husband in a murder-suicide.
Covington County sheriff’s deputies and Andalusia and Gantt police officers responded to a home on in Andalusia after Cindi Jordan, who was “in great distress,” called authorities, said Sheriff Blake Turman, according to WDHN.
Authorities lost contact with Jordan shortly after she made the call.
Her body was found in the home, the sheriff said.
Turman said Jordan’s ex-husband, Robert Ribarin Sr., broke into her house and killed Jordan before taking his own life.
“This was a tragic event and totally uncalled for,” Turman said in a statement, according to WDHN. “Thank you to all the responders who assisted, and please keep our citizens dealing with this loss in your thoughts and prayers.”
