Alabama woman driving wrong way plows into Chamber of Commerce, takes off on foot
A woman driving down the wrong way of a one-way street in Guntersville plowed into the city’s chamber of commerce building before being taken into custody Tuesday night.
The incident happened at about 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, according to Guntersville Police Chief Ryan Darnell.
Kawana Denise Jordan, 43, of Hoover, was stopped by a police officer for driving the wrong way.
According to police, during the traffic stop, Jordan placed her car and drive and continued down Gunter Avenue “at a high rate of speed.”
Her vehicle then struck the rear of the Lake Guntersville Chamber of Commerce building.
According to police, Jordan ran from the vehicle and a foot chase began. She was eventually arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail.
