Alabama woman broke into home where person slept, demanded money, shot victim, police say
Athens police say a woman is behind bars after she broke into a home and shot a person after demanding money.
Det. Lt. Jonathan Caldwell said the incident happened Monday at about 5:42 a.m. in the 700 block of Brownsferry Street.
Athens police investigators say Mary Natasa Lashinta Noble, 25, entered the residence with a firearm, awakened the victim and began demanding money. After an altercation, Noble shot the victim, Caldwell said.
Noble is being held without bond in the Limestone County Jail on charges of first degree burglary and first degree assault.
The victim is currently in ICU at Huntsville Hospital.
Caldwell said the shooting was an isolated event and not a incident of random violence.
