Alabama woman among bikini-clad cast for new season of ‘Love Island USA’

A new crop of bikini-clad singles is set to enter the “Love Island” villa, and an Alabama woman is one of ‘em.

NBC announced today the first 10 cast members, including Olandria Carthen of Decatur, for the seventh season of “Love Island USA,” a popular reality(ish) dating show that sees, in nearly real-time, singles living together on a luxury island where they have to either pair up or get the boot.

While not a lot has been shared about the cast other than their hometowns and a couple of fun facts, Carthen makes it clear that she’s a college football fan. (Though she doesn’t reveal which state team her allegiances lie with.)

“Olandria is such a sports lover, her favorite dance is a ‘touchdown dance,’” a fun fact about her shared on Entertainment Weekly’s website reads. “The Alabama native is a proud first-generation college student who proclaims, ‘college football is my life.’”

Carthen will join other castmates from other states like Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma, California, Michigan, Hawaii and more. She’s also not the first Alabama native to appear on “Love Island USA”. Robert “Rob” Rausch, of Florence, first appeared on the show during season five and was a main cast member throughout season 6.

The new season of “Love Island USA” will kick off on June 3 and stream exclusively on Peacock.
