Longhorns WRs Xavier Worthy had 60 receptions for 760 yards and nine TDs, Ja’Tavion Sanders had 54 receptions for 613 yards and five TDs and Jordan Whittington had 50 receptions for 652 yards and one TD last season. The trio combined for 13 receptions for 181 yards and one TD in Texas’ 37-10 victory over Rice last week.

2 SEC players have scored more points than Alabama K Will Reichard, who has 433. Auburn’s Daniel Carlson holds the SEC record with 480 points from 2014 through 2017, and Georgia K Rodrigo Blankenship scored 440 points from 2016 through 2019. Last season, Reichard’s 33-yard field goal with 10 seconds to play lifted Alabama to a 20-19 victory over Texas.

2 Victories for Alabama in 10 games against Texas. The Crimson Tide’s wins have come in the past two meetings — 37-21 in the BCS national championship game on Jan. 7, 2010, and 20-19 on Sept. 10, 2022. In the eight other meetings, Alabama has seven losses and a tie. The teams tied 3-3 in the Bluebonnet Bowl on Dec. 17, 1960. Of the 82 college programs that Alabama has played more than once, Texas is among the seven that own winning records against the Crimson Tide. With a 7-2-1 record against Alabama, Texas has the most games against the Tide in that group. Alabama has a 1-3 record against Boston College, 3-5 against Notre Dame, 2-3-1 against Oklahoma, 0-3 against Rice, 2-3 against TCU and 1-2 against UCLA.

2 Seasons were spent by Texas coach Steve Sarkisian as Alabama’s offensive coordinator. Sarkisian ran the Crimson Tide’s attack in 2019 and 2020 before leaving for the Longhorns. Alabama coach Nick Saban has a 28-2 record against teams with one of his former assistant coaches as the head coach.

27 Seasons between Texas opening the season with a true freshman as the Longhorns’ starting running back. In Texas’ 37-10 victory over Rice last week, CJ Baxter ran for 38 yards on five carries as the first freshman starter at running back in a season-opener for the Longhorns since Ricky Williams ran for 95 yards and two TDs in a 38-17 victory over Hawaii on Sept. 2, 1995.

29 Consecutive September games have been won by Alabama, the longest current winning streak in the ninth month in the nation. The Crimson Tide’s most recent September loss came 43-37 to Ole Miss on Sept. 19, 2015.

35 Consecutive September non-conference home games have been won by Alabama. The Crimson Tide’s most recent loss in the ninth month to a non-conference opponent in Bryant-Denny Stadium is a 19-16 setback against Northern Illinois on Sept. 20, 2003.

37 Victories, 21 losses and two ties for Texas against SEC opponents. Alabama has a 13-9-1 record against members of the Big 12 and its ancestral conferences.

Alabama has the nation’s longest such active streak, with Oregon next at 31 in a row. Alabama’s home winning streak against non-conference opponents is the third-longest in SEC history. LSU won 49 in a row between a 13-10 loss to UAB on Sept. 23, 2000, and a 24-21 loss to Troy on Sept. 30, 2017. Tennessee won 44 in a row between a 14-6 loss to Chattanooga on Nov. 8, 1958, and a 17-17 tie with UCLA on Sept. 7, 1974.

57 Consecutive non-conference regular-season games have been won by Alabama — the longest streak in the nation during the SEC era. The Tide’s most recent loss in a non-conference regular-season game came on Nov. 17, 2007, when Alabama fell to Louisiana-Monroe 21-14.

100 Victories and 46 losses for Alabama coach Nick Saban in games against opponents ranked in the AP Poll. Saban has the most coaching victories against ranked opponents after passing former Penn State coach Joe Paterno, who had an 86-82 record against ranked teams.

121 Years since Texas’ previous game in Tuscaloosa. On Nov. 19, 1902, the Longhorns defeated Alabama 10-0.

297 Games have been played by Alabama since it was most recently shut out, a school record and the third-longest scoring streak in SEC history. Alabama’s most recent shutout loss came 9-0 to Auburn on Nov. 18, 2000. Florida has a 436-game scoring streak going, and Georgia has scored in its past 358 games. The Crimson Tide’s scoring streak is the 14th-longest in major-college football history.
