Alabama tractor-trailer driver killed in wreck after hitting parked car, building

An Alabama tractor-trailer driver was killed late Wednesday morning after his vehicle left the highway, hit a parked vehicle and a building before the tractor became engulfed in flames near Montgomery, authorities said Wednesday night.

Kevin T. Guilford, 39, of Abbeville, was driving a 2018 Volvo tractor-trailer when single-vehicle wreck occurred 11:50 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 80 near the 119-mile marker, about five miles west of Montgomery, in Lowndes County, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sgt. Jeremy Burkett.

Guilford, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, was ejected from the tractor. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Burkett said.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the crash.
