Alabama to warm up after cold night: How cold did it get where you live?

Alabama woke up to chilly April temperatures on Wednesday.

A freeze warning was to remain in effect for northern parts of the state until 9 a.m., and frost advisories were also continuing for areas to the south:

Many spots in north and central Alabama were in the 30s early on Wednesday morning, with a few spots below freezing.

* Greenville: 38 degrees

* Haleyville: 30 degrees

* Huntsville: 35 degrees

* Mobile: 45 degrees

* Montgomery: 39 degrees

* Prattville: 38 degrees

* Selma: 37 degrees

Temperatures today are expected to rebound and climb into the 60s and 70s statewide (today’s forecast is at the top of this post).

Another cool night is in the forecast for tonight, but not as cold as this morning has proven to be.

No more below-freezing temperatures are anticipated through the weekend, although there could be more cool nights, according to the weather service.

There will be a chance for strong to severe storms on Thursday afternoon for the northern part of the state.
