Alabama Theatre 2023 summer film series: Dates, times, tickets, more
The Alabama Theatre’s summer film series is set to return in 2023, screening nine movies at the historic theater in downtown Birmingham.
The agenda starts with a “Grease” sing-along on June 23, and ends with Disney’s classic version of “Cinderella” on Aug. 6. Here’s the full lineup:
- “Grease” sing-along, June 23 at 7 p.m.
- “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” June 25 at 2 p.m.
- “The Mummy” (1999 version with Brendan Fraser), July 7 at 7 p.m.
- “Remember the Titans,” July 9 at 2 p.m.
- “Sister Act,” July 21 at 7 p.m.
- “Saturday Night Fever,” July 22 at 7 p.m.
- “Shrek,” July 23 at 2 p.m.
- “The Goonies,” Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.
- “Cinderella” (1950 animated version from Walt Disney), Aug. 6 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 on sale now via Ticketmaster. Children age 2 and younger may attend for free. Seating is general admission: First come, first served. Doors open one hour before show time, and each screening begins with a sing-along that features music performed on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.
The Alabama Theatre, 1817 Third Ave. North, traditionally presents a summer film series and a holiday film series each year. Both are popular with moviegoers in the Birmingham area and beyond.
