Alabama storm damage prompts power outrages: See pictures and video

Parts of Alabama are already beginning to see damage from storms in several counties in central and north Alabama.

The National Weather Service is reporting trees being blown down, with one minor injury reported in Franklin County. There are also reports of widespread wind damage across Franklin County.

Poweroutage.us is reporting more than 52,000 without power in the state so far, as of 11:30 a.m.

Colbert County EMA, just before 11 a.m., reported no heavy damage.

“We have had reports of 60 mph gusts just behind the line and multiple trees down across the county,” the EMA reported. “We anticipate the gradient winds to remain high for a few hours behind the line, so trees could still fall, even with the sunshine.”
