Alabama state police investigating fatal car crash in DeKalb County
A Collinsville man died after a single-vehicle crash in DeKalb County late Friday night, police said.
The man, Derrick G. Barkley, 48, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado on DeKalb County 30 when the vehicle left the road, struck a fence and utility pole and turned over. He was not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The crash occurred at about 11:55 p.m. near DeKalb County 84, three miles northwest of Collinsville.
State troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
