Alabama star names best college athlete he’s ever seen: Hint, it’s not Ryan Williams

When it comes to the greatest college athlete that Kadyn Proctor has seen play, he looked outside the white lines.

Much has been made about Ryan Williams’ freshman season at Alabama. The Tide receiver is on the cover of EA Sports College Football ‘26 after all.

No, Proctor, the Alabama offensive line, went a different route.

“I would say Caitlin Clark for sure,” Proctor, an Iowa native, said. “There is talks about is the best athlete to come out of Iowa.

“I don’t want anybody to say my name. I want them to say Caitlin Clark.”

The reporter who asked the question cited Williams as well as former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, but Proctor went the basketball route.

“The things I’ve seen her do is crazy.”

In February of 2024, Clark – who now plays in the WNBA – broke the NCAA all-time scoring record and Iowa program single-game scoring record when she scored 49 points in a 106-89 win over Michigan.

In that game, she reached an NCAA record 3,569 career points, the most in NCAA history. She also tied her career-best with nine 3-pointers.

In June of 2024, Proctor called it “one of the worst decisions” he ever made when he transferred to Iowa in January of that year after earning freshman all-SEC honors at Alabama.

The Des Moines, Iowa, native, ultimately returned to Tuscaloosa and expects to be main contributor for the Tide once again this season.
