Alabama sisters arrested for allegedly beating man they thought killed mother

Two Mobile County sisters were arrested after they allegedly burglarized a man’s trailer and beat him after falsely believing he had a role in their mother’s death, authorities said Wednesday.

Vacoreia Pritchett, 28, and Valandra Pritchett, 33, were charged with first-degree burglary in connection with the incident in Grand Bay, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, as reported by Fox 10.

The sheriff’s office could not be reached to confirm the sisters’ arrests.

The sisters targeted the victim because they believed he was responsible for the death of their mother, 55-year-old Vicki Pritchett, whose body was found near her home in Grand Bay earlier this month, the sheriff’s office said.

No foul play was suspected in Vicki Pritchett’s death, the sheriff’s office said at the time.

On Wednesday, the office said there was no evidence that the man allegedly burglarized and beaten by the sisters had any connection to Pritchett’s death.
