A tornado reportedly cut through the wiregrass region this morning ahead of a band of expected strong storms.

Social media reports showed the storm moving rapidly through Abbeville, the seat of Henry County in southeast Alabama, a town of about 2,300 just west of the Alabama-Georgia state line.

As of 11:30 a.m., there were no immediate reports of injuries, but reports of structure damage on Singletary Road. Video shared on social media also showed downed trees and damaged roofs shorn of shingles.

Alabama has already had one round of storms early this morning, and more storms are expected through the day in multiple rounds.

The storms could bring hail the size of baseballs along with them. And tornadoes — including the possibility of strong ones.
