Alabama sets date, opponent for 2023 homecoming game
Alabama’s Oct. 14 game against Arkansas will serve as the Tide’s annual homecoming game, the school announced Monday.
It is the first time since 2019 that Arkansas will serve as Alabama’s homecoming opponent. The Hogs were also the visitors on homecoming weekend in 2017.
The kickoff time of the Oct. 14 game has yet to be announced and will likely not be decided until the SEC’s weekly scheduling announcement Oct. 2. The date of the Arkansas game, and the rest of Alabama’s 2023 schedule, had been announced last September.
Alabama has a 16-game winning streak against Arkansas, which last beat the Tide in 2006 and has not won in Tuscaloosa since 2003.
This will likely be the final season Alabama and Arkansas will play together in the SEC West, with the SEC expected to eliminate divisions starting in 2024. Alabama and Arkansas are not expected to be permanent opponents under the new scheduling model, meaning they would only play once every two seasons.
