Alabama schools close, go to virtual learning for Monday, Jan. 22, due to icy roads
Some north Alabama school systems have announced that they will remain closed on Monday, Jan. 22, due to persistent issues related to recent snow and ice.
For some students, this means a full week of missed classes, some of which will have to be made up at the end of the year. The state will start to warm up on Monday, but many school officials in north Alabama are still wary about icy roads.
Some other districts posted jokes — “After a week of posting closings… it feels good to post this one. See you tomorrow!” Cullman County schools wrote. Check your school district for the most up-to-date information.
