Alabama schools close, dismiss early due to severe weather Tuesday, Jan. 3
Some Alabama schools will dismiss early or not open at all on Tuesday ahead of possible severe weather.
Storms will be possible from late Tuesday morning into the overnight hours. However, the most likely time for severe weather will come during the afternoon hours.
All forms of severe weather will be on the table for this go-around, including tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and flooding rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Many Alabama schools are set to reopen on Tuesday after the winter break, but the following school districts have announced a change in plans due to the expected bad weather.

Bullock County schools – Virtual learning Tuesday, school buildings are closed
Lauderdale County schools – Closed Tuesday
Pike Road City schools – Closed Tuesday
Tallapoosa County schools – Dismissing at 2 p.m. Tuesday
