A bus driver for Madison City Schools was arrested Friday on allegations she engaged in a sex act with a student under 19 years old, authorities said.

Azaria Ashford, 24, of Huntsville, was charged with one count of school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19, according to Madison police.

Madison City Schools could not immediately be reached for comment or on Ashford’s job status.

She was booked into the Madison County jail pending bond, police said.

Ashford’s booking was not in jail records as of late Friday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
