Alabama police officer critically injured in motorcycle crash, airlifted to Birmingham hospital

An Alabama police officer was critically injured in an off-duty motorcycle crash.

Jordan Driver, a Carbon Hill police officer, was driving his motorcycle in Fayette Thursday morning when he wrecked. No other vehicles were involved.

Driver was airlifted to UAB Hospital with internal bleeding, a broken pelvis and other injuries, according to a GoFundMe started to help with his medical bills.

He underwent immediate surgery and was expected to have surgery again Friday.

Carbon Hill police Chief Clark Sanford said Driver is expected to have a lengthy recovery and will likely be off work for a year. The GoFundMe says he will be hospitalized for roughly three months.

“We are so thankful he is still here with us be he has a long road to recovery,’’ according to the GoFundMe. “We are raising money for Jordan so he will not have to worry about the financial strain of not being able to work.”
