Alabama playoff football forecast: Cool in California
No. 5 Alabama is set to face No. 1 Michigan on Monday (New Year’s Day) at 4 p.m. CST in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
And the weather is expected to be un-California-like for the game — a bit cooler than average with a chance of rain.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles said there will be a slight chance of rain on Monday in Pasadena.
It’ll be a bit cooler than average as well (but still warmer than it will be in Alabama). The high temperature on Monday in Pasadena is forecast to be only 63 degrees. The average high for the area on Jan. 1 is 67.

However, according to the weather service the temperature will be around 62 degrees at kickoff (2 p.m. PST local time, 4 p.m. CST in Alabama).
The temperature is expected to drop only a degree or two by the game’s end.
The weather service is also predicting a 20 percent chance of rain during the game.
Skies are expected to be partly cloudy and winds around 8 mph.
Temperatures will drop after sunset, and the forecast low temperature from Monday night into Tuesday morning will be around 42 degrees.
