Alabama NFL roundup: Marlon Humphrey keeps game going

Alabama NFL roundup: Marlon Humphrey keeps game going

With a little more than a minute to play and Los Angeles trailing the Baltimore Ravens by three points, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw deep for wide receiver Cooper Kupp. In a matchup of all-stars, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey was shadowing Kupp, but he couldn’t keep the Rams WR from coming down with the football for a 34-yard gain to the Baltimore 22-yard line.

Two snaps later, Stafford threw Humphrey’s way again. But this time, the former Hoover High School star nearly came down with an interception in the end zone.

Los Angeles had to settle for a field goal with seven seconds left in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime, where Baltimore’s Tylan Wallace gave the Ravens a 37-31 victory with a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown.

The victory moved Baltimore to the top spot in the AFC’s playoff standings with a 10-3 record.

Against the Rams, Humphrey made four tackles and registered one quarterback hit in addition to his end-zone breakup.
