NFL Week 9 odds preview: Best prop bets for Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, and Jalen Hurts

Tua Tagovailoa under 277.5 passing yards (-115 or better)

Be sure to set an early alarm on Sunday morning to tune into the Chiefs vs. Dolphins game with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 am CST in Frankfurt, Germany.

Tua was on fire in last week’s 31-17 win over the Patriots, completing 66% of his passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns. For only the second time this season, Waddle was Miami’s top receiver, catching seven passes for 121 yards and a score.

Regression could be coming for Tua vs. a Chiefs defense that ranks second against the pass, surrendering only 176 yards per game. With the third-most sacks in football, the key to Kansas City’s success is pressuring the passer.

Jaylen Waddle first touchdown scorer (+1100 or better)

Finding a way to slow down Tyreek Hill is crucial in limiting the Dolphin’s offense. Though, that’s far easier said than done, considering Hill leads the NFL with 1,014 yards, the most through eight games in the Super Bowl era.

With the Chiefs scrambling to contain Tyreek, Waddle should have plenty of opportunities to make plays early on. Waddle has found the endzone in three of his last four games.

Jalen Hurts 275+ passing yards (+160 or better)

Despite his continued domination through the air, oddsmakers continue setting low passing prop totals for Hurts. The Houston native has the seventh-most yards in the NFL and has eclipsed 275 yards in six straight games.

Sportsbooks undervaluing Hurts makes sense in Week 9 vs. a Cowboys defense allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards per game. But Dallas has had trouble stopping the run, and Philly boasts one of the league’s top rushing attacks.

Look for the Birds to establish the run, opening things up for Hurts and A.J. Brown, whose 903 receiving yards are second only to Hill.
