A Muscle Shoals man died Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle left the road, struck a gas line and then a tree.

Cpl. Reginal King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on Alabama 20 near the 46-mile marker, about three miles west of Courtland in Lawrence County.

Willie R. Agee Jr., 42, was injured when the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox he was driving left the roadway.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, King said.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
