Tony H. Coffman Jr., 45, of Athens, was fatally injured Sunday night when the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer he was driving left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and then struck a tree.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Friend Road near Garden Lane, approximately ten miles west of Tanner, in Limestone County, according to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Coffman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate, the release says.
