Alabama man killed in Etowah County motorcycle wreck
An Alabama man was killed Friday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding left the highway and hit a tree in Etowah County, authorities said.
Micheal A. Ridens, 61, of Gadsden, was riding a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 2:11 p.m. Friday on U.S. 278 when the vehicle veered off the road, striking a guardrail and then a tree about seven miles west of Attallah, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal.
Ridens was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck near the 120-mile marker of U.S. 278, said O’Neal.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
