A crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a man Friday afternoon in Cleburne County.

Dillion C. Wheeles, 30, of Wadley in Randolph County was killed when the 2009 Chrysler Sebring he was driving collided head-on with the 2018 International Prostar tractor-trailer.

Wheeles was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 431 about six miles southeast of Oxford. Alabama State Troopers said the wreck occurred around 1:15 Friday afternoon.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the incident.
