An Alabama man was charged with murder in the shooting death Sunday night of a 24-year-old man in the Florida panhandle.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 53-year-old Jason Lanye Curtis on a charge of premeditated murder, according to the Pensacola News Journal.

Colby Vinson, 24, was found dead from a gunshot wound at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 7700 block of Navarre Parkway in Navarre, the paper reported.

The investigation into Vinson’s death was ongoing as of Tuesday evening.
