Alabama man allegedly stabs wife to death outside Arizona Walmart
An Alabama woman was stabbed to death outside an Arizona Walmart early Friday.
Kingman Police Department officials identified the slain woman as Linda Joyce Goodin. She was 53.
Her husband, 59-year-old Anthony James Goodin, is being held on a murder charge.
Public records indicated the couple lived in Phenix City.
Kingman police officers responded about 4 a.m. to the business in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Road on reports of a man stabbing a woman.
Officers arrived to find the husband holding a large knife and a cell phone. He was standing near a box truck.
According to a press release, Goodin dropped the knife but would not obey commands from officers, who deployed a stun-gun on him.
Gooding was taken into custody.
His wife received life-saving measures on the scene and then transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
Efforts to reach Kingman police officials for additional comment were unsuccessful.
Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed told local news reporters that the couple was traveling from Alabama to California in a U-Haul.
Goodin admitted to stabbing his wife, police said, and was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
