A Lauderdale County man faces charges of first degree sexual abuse after authorities say he entered a church bathroom and touched a young girl.

Brian Leon Dickinson, 20, was arrested Sunday.

According to court documents, Dickinson’s arrest came after an incident Sunday when the pastor of a church on Chisholm Road told officers that a man had entered the women’s restroom and touched a girl inappropriately.

A police officer questioned Dickinson, and he admitted going into the restroom “just to see what would happen,” according to records. When asked what he meant, he said, “just like sexual stuff.”

Police stated later that Dickinson admitting touching the girl and attempting to kiss her during an interview.
