Alabama man allegedly sent nude picture to parent posing as 13-year-old
A Tuscumbia man is facing charges after police say he was caught sending photos of his genitals to a parent posing as a teen.
Jeffrey Charles Butler, 33, was arrested March 2 on charges of electronic solicitation of a child and second degree sodomy. He is being held on $45,000 bond.
According to court records, on Feb. 28 a parent contacted police. According to the parent, when she was checking her teen son’s phone, a message came from Butler, intended for the son, asking if he was alone. The parent, posing as the son, said yes, and after a text exchange, received a photograph of Butler’s genitals.
When parents and, later, police questioned the son, the son said sexual contact between the two had been going on for about a year-and-a-half, always at Butler’s home.
He said he had been scared of Butler and was afraid he would get blamed for what was happening.
