Alabama man, 83, killed in Florida crash; woman critically injured
An 83-year-old Brewton man was killed this morning in a single-vehicle accident in Escambia County, according to a release from Florida Highway Patrol.
His passenger, a 62-year-old Brewton woman, was also critically injured.
Their names were not released.
The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on U.S. Highway 29, according to the release.
The pair were traveling south on U.S. Highway 29 approximately one mile north of Champion Drive when their pickup truck crossed the median over into the northbound lanes and ran off the roadway on the east shoulder.
The front driver side area of the vehicle collided with tree then overturned, finally coming to rest on its passenger side, the release reads.
