Alabama LB injures knee, to miss rest of 2022 season
Alabama will be down a linebacker after an injury in the win over Arkansas.
Junior Demouy Kennedy’s injury is season ending, Nick Saban said Wednesday morning without specifying the diagnosis. Kennedy got hurt covering a punt in the fourth quarter of the 49-26 win over the Razorbacks. He went down clutching his knee and was walked gingerly straight to the locker room.
A Theodore, Alabama product, Kennedy had seen action in all three phases for the Crimson Tide. Along with his special teams and defensive work, Kennedy was called into action as an emergency running back when a run of knee injuries decimated the depth chart last fall. He carried the ball seven times for 16 yards last November in a win over New Mexico State.
Alabama coaches selected him as a special teams player of the week four times last year when he finished with seven total tackles.
Kennedy made one stop while appearing in all five games to this point in the 2022 season.
