Alabama law enforcement looking for burglar who escaped on a kayak
The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who they say broke into a waterfront house and apparently made off with items he crammed into a kayak.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies received a call of burglary on May 23 in the Riverton Rose Trail community.
They arrived on the scene to find that the residence had been broken into and several items taken.
Home surveillance video captured several images of the suspect involved, they said. The images show a blonde man with a slim build and arm tattoos, wearing in a red hoodie with multicolored stripes down the left sleeve.
Once the man was confronted, he fled on a yellow kayak down the Tennessee River with the stolen items visible from shore, his leg keeping them secured inside.
According to investigators, the man is believed to be staying in the Waterloo area of Lauderdale County.
