Alabama is one of cheapest U.S. states to buy a house, study says
If you’re looking to buy a home in Alabama soon, the results of a recent study regarding housing costs might make you smile.
A study, conducted by Studio City realtors, analyzed Zillow data of the median sale price of houses in each U.S. state in 2022 and found that Alabama was the 10th cheapest state to purchase a home.
The median sale price of a home in Alabama was $200,000, according to the study. In comparison, Hawaii, the most expensive place the study found to purchase a home, had a median sale price of $805,775.
The cheapest place to purchase a home according to the study is Illinois, where the median sale price is $133,750.
