Alabama gets commitment from 2025 five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench
Alabama football added to its 2025 recruiting class on Saturday with the commitment of Jamie Ffrench. The five-star wide receiver from Florida became the fifth commit of the class for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.
“It was just something about Tuscaloosa,” Ffrench said on an Instagram Live announcement. “Every time I would be in town you know, I took many visits and I had just never felt anything like it.”
Ffrench played his high school football at Mandarin in Jacksonville. He stands six-foot-one and weighs 185 pounds.
Ffrench chose Alabama over a top five that included Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Florida State. Last season at Mandarin he caught 44 passes for 671 yards and five touchdowns according to Maxpreps.
The wideout is the younger brother of Maurice Ffrench, who played receiver at Pittsburgh before moving into the professional ranks. The elder Ffrench signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2020, spending time on the practice squad before spending part of the 2021 season with the Los Angeles Chargers and eventually moving on to the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League.
Jaime Ffrench is ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver in the class of 2025 according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He stands as the No. 31 overall player nationally.
He’s listed as a four-star by 247Sports’ own rating system, but gains an extra star on the composite rankings. He’s also listed as a four-star by On3, Rivals and ESPN
247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivans praised Ffrench’s route-running ability and body control.
“Attention to detail allows him to separate underneath while agile feet allow him to keep defenders off-balance as attacks the deeper parts of the field,” Ivans wrote in his assessment. “Might not be a true burner, but owns respectable testing numbers for his age, and has shown that he can win his fair share of foot races. Does a favorable job of navigating his way through traffic and is the type of ball carrier that understands the value of just picking up the yardage that’s presented to him.”
Ffrench became Alabama’s fifth commitment in the 2025 class. He is the second commit in the class from Florida, joining running back Anthony Rogers, who attends IMG Academy.
Alabama’s 2025 class ranked No. 2 nationally according to the 24Sports composite ratings. In addition to Rogers, it also includes fellow five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams from Saraland and four-star offensive tackles Mason Short and Dontrell Glover.
