Alabama gains votes in new coaches poll
Everyone at the top of the polls held serve while there were a few shifts.
Alabama remained No. 6 in the coaches poll, adding a few votes after beating then-No. 24 Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide (7-1) got 1,264 voting points this week after receiving 1,236 last week. Alabama is the highest-ranked one-loss team with Oregon next at No. 8.
Tennessee jumped Michigan for No. 3 in the coaches poll while Ole Miss dropped to No. 12 from seventh after a blowout loss at LSU.
The Tigers, Alabama’s next opponent on Nov. 5, jumped back into the rankings at No. 20 in the coaches poll after the win.
