Alabama football’s Jalen Milroe shares unexpected fear ‘That’s one thing I do not do’
After holding practice for its matchup with Michigan in Tuesday’s ReliaQuest Bowl, Alabama football players were heading to Busch Gardens on Saturday. The Crimson Tide was expected to enjoy the theme park’s rides and other exhibits.
However, UA’s quarterback wasn’t planning on testing the thrill rides. In fact, he didn’t make the trip to the park at all.
“I do not do roller coasters,” Jalen Milroe told reporters after practice. “That’s one thing I do not do.”
Milroe plays fearlessly on the field. He’s one of Alabama’s top options in the run game near the goal line, and occasionally will force a pass into tight coverage.
In short, he’s not the person one would expect to be nervous on rides such as the Serengeti Flyer.
“When I was younger, I had no fear,” Milroe said. “I used to do everything, like it was nothing. But now, I’m older. I gotta stay away from roller coasters. I’m scared of those things, I’m not gonna lie… Might get me a funnel cake or something.”
As it turned out, Milroe wasn’t the only one to chicken out. Running back Jam Miller, who made the Busch Gardens trip, evidently refused to ride the Falcon’s Fury drop tower, and was subsequently made fun of by his teammates.
Alabama will finish up the 2024 season on Tuesday with the ReliaQuest Bowl scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. CT at Raymond James Stadium. The game will be aired on ESPN.
